Meet The Hub’s Director, Dana Krueger!

Dana joined The Hub as our new Director in March of 2024. Her expertise is in business development, project management, grant writing, branding, tourism, economic development, non-profits, agriculture, and more.

Her own business is NYS WBE certified and she has been through the process twice, offering invaluable insight to those aspiring to earn this certification.

Some of her many priorities here at The Hub include:

  • connecting entrepreneurs with resources they need for business plans, financial advising, legal help, and more

  • providing support and advice for business structuring

  • connecting business owners to funding opportunities

  • helping with government relations locally and statewide

  • making connections between business owners

  • working with WISE and other county-wide groups to facilitate networking and educational opportunities for business owners

  • reporting to Madison County Planning Board on the activities of The Hub in the county

  • working with Colgate students to help guide them and connect them with mentors and advisors for their Entrepreneurship & Innovation program

  • representing The Hub as part of the Rural Equity Group - a collection of organizations and government agencies collaborating on shared goals to benefit economic development in Madison County

Dana’s Background

Dana owns and operates Dana Cook & Company, LLC, and DanaEvents, providing project management, creative strategy, fundraising consulting, and cultural event planning to clients across New York State. 

Dana has worked on projects with Corning Museum of Glass, The Rockwell Museum, Museum Association of New York, Corning Children’s Center, Brooklyn Historical Society, South Street Seaport Museum, The Wild Center, NYS Canal Corporation, I LOVE NY, and more. 

She plans fundraisers, galas, and statewide and international conferences; has worked as Chief of Staff for several local LLCs in the agricultural industry in Madison and Chenango Counties; and provides grant writing, project management, business development, and creative strategy solutions. 

Prior to starting her own business, Dana worked for Museum Association of New York, The Wellin Museum at Hamilton College, Earlville Opera House, and Madison County Historical Society. She spent ten years teaching for the Graduate Program in Museum Studies at Syracuse University and currently teaches at Wells College.

Dana is a Councilmember for the Town of Hamilton. She is a Past Chair of the Board of the Directors for the New York State Tourism Industry Association (NYSTIA), and still serves on the Board of Directors as Chair of the Scholarship Committee. Dana served on the board for the Museum Association of New York (MANY) and was Board Chair for the New York Cultural Heritage Tourism Network (NYCHTN). She was on the Uncommon Approaches to the Common Core NYS Conference Planning Committee as well as the Tourism Industry Coalition Committee.

Locally, Dana has been a member of the Share in the Care Gala Committee for Community Memorial Hospital and a board member of the Hamilton Community Chest (HCC). She is currently the Secretary for the Board of Directors for the Center State Youth Hockey Association.

Dana grew up locally in Earlville/South Hamilton and currently lives in Earlville with her children, Reagan and Sam.
